November in Italy.
A 50 km square area all around Cesena and Forlì.
An ancient land consecrated to fruit growing.
Deep furrows design landscape. They could date back to Roman.
Electric light cables overwrite a more recent story.
But in the last decade many things changed.
European laws imposed new rules. Consumer tastes moved to more attractive hybrids.
Different jobs promise an easier fortune.
Thousands of old beautiful trees full of ripe fruits are waiting. Mute.
Offering their gifts. Stretching their arms.
They shout about a nonsense waste.
There is no economic advantage to pick up fruits anymore.
Nobody does. Except one.
A courageous farmer replaced the old crop with a new one: Persimon.
A new irreversible change in landscape is going on.
How can we pilot it in a good direction?
All in the air is static.
We can hear over all a "Requiem", or better a "Cachymphony" in D minor.
